Celebrates Teachers of Tomorrow Announcing the 2023-2024 Cohort

Baltimore, Maryland (September 20, 2023): The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) is proud to announce the members of the newest cohort of the NFB Teachers of Tomorrow program. Our NFB Teachers of Tomorrow program is an immersive, professional development program that connects teachers of blind and low-vision students to the lived experiences of blind people.

Blind Hoosiers File Lawsuit Against the Indiana Division of Family Resources

Indianapolis (August 6, 2019): Reviewing and selecting insurance and benefits are important processes that should be personal and private. For Christopher and Sarah Meyer, siblings who are blind, the print-only benefits communications they received from the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), its Division of Family Resources (DFR), and their contractors not only forced them to rely on other people to intercept and read their private information, but caused them to lose their benefits.

Federation Update on Key Bridge Collapse in Baltimore

Blind Employee Sues Beacon Health Options

Cambridge, Massachusetts (October 31, 2019): Amy Ruell, a blind licensed independent clinical social worker, is suing her employer, Beacon Health Options, because inaccessible software and online resources that it uses prevent her from doing critical parts of her job independently.
